Travel aboard the M/V Miss Samantha out nine miles from Bar Harbor, to visit one of the crown jewels of Acadia National Park. Land by launch and spend over two hours exploring this fascinating 130-acre mostly park owned island, the 200-year-old Gilley family farmstead, and the Baker Island Lighthouse. This tour is guided by a park ranger/naturalist who will point out and identify wildlife (seals, porpoise, bald eagles, and seabirds), provide a wonderful program of interpretation, and answer all your questions. Come away with an appreciation of how it would feel to settle on an island off the coast of Maine two hundred years ago. Pack a lunch and eat at the dance floor rock formation, while enjoying breathtaking ocean scenery. On the way back travel along the eastern shoreline of Mount Desert Island and view many of the highlights of Acadia up close including: Otter Cliffs, Sand Beach and Great Head. A great fun-filled adventure for all!
